Melissa Jane - Born in Melbourne, Australia, she made her first T.V. appearance at the age of 7 and hasn’t stopped performing since. A skilled triple threat, she has performed in numerous bands and shows throughout Australia. Her most recognized international success is fronting the pop R&B group Les BiJioux in Japan, hosting the T.V. show X-Beyond Surf on ESPN International and starring on VH1’s Rock N Roll Fantasy Camp Season 2. Based in Los Angeles she is currently lead singer for the bands Lady Zep, Final Gravity and SYNN. Trained in opera, Melissa combines her powerful voice with a captivating stage presence to create a unique “front-woman” unlike anyone else on the scene today.

I wrote a script of what I think are the most powerful affirmations for creating "Focus & Balance" in order to be abundant and successful. Make sure to subscribe for more video premieres and extra content coming at you all year leading up to the release. http://www.finalgravitytheband.com/ Released Date Jan 4th 2019 - the first single from the new album: “Surviving Humanity” The Story of – “No Love” by Mike Clark – Final Gravity “No Love” was inspired by a decade that started with a major terrorist attack that changed the USA forever and ended with an economic crisis that nearly led to a second Great Depression. It was also not a happy time for me personally. While many Americans were enraptured by the booming housing market, I was dealing with a great deal of personal adversity and my curiosity and extensive reading led me to realize early on that the economy was built on a house of cards, about to collapse. Against that backdrop, I created some initial musical and lyrical ideas for “No Love” in 2008. Even back then, I knew I had something special on my hands, but the song still needed a lot of work. The next great burst of writing activity happened in 2009. I was on a business trip with an executive from my company who was also a longtime personal friend. We were booked to sit together on four different flights, which would have allowed for several hours of potentially career advancing conversation. This plan was thwarted by my friend’s decision to upgrade his seat on three of those flights. To make matters worse, a passenger died at the beginning of the final fight. As we deplaned for the passenger’s body to be removed, I contemplated the fleeting nature of life and the selfishness that can taint interpersonal relationships. Many of the final lyrics in “No Love” poured out as I sat alone during that last flight home. The song’s evolution over the next couple of years was less dramatic. The original lineup of Final Gravity tried record a demo in late 2009, but the song just didn’t sound right. I also worked on it with a couple of people from outside the band, which led to some interesting bass and keyboard ideas, but the core song didn’t change much. I started to accept the idea that “No Love” would join a small group of my songs that showed strong potential but would never be completed. Vocalist Melissa Jane Dichiera joined Final Gravity in 2010 and after a string of successful shows, I wondered if the time had come to give “No Love” another try. We worked on the song in our rehearsal space and Melissa’s vocals added a spark that really helped bring the song to life. In one of those rehearsal sessions, we wrote the middle section and the structure as it exists today was mostly complete. By mid-2012, our bassist Charles Mumford had left the band and I was about to enter an intense MBA program at UCLA. Since Final Gravity was likely to be dormant for the next two years, we booked three days at our drummer John Chominsky’s studio to record several demos, including “No Love”. At that time the song really came together. In fact, the drum, keyboard, and vocal parts as they exist today were mostly recorded during those sessions. We left with a rough mix of “No Love” that finally captured the spirit and vibe that I always knew the song could have. Over the next few years, I listened to that mix hundreds of times, hoping we could someday polish the rough edges and release the song to the public as a document of a very troubled time, which fortunately had passed. Fast forward to 2016. After several years of peace, prosperity, and strong economic recovery, dark clouds were visible on the horizon. After eight years of “Hope” danger signs indicated we might enter another period of “No Love”. Around this time, I played the 2012 demos for Charles and he seemed interested in rejoining the band. Like them on FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/SYNN99/ www.synnband.com Why did the band choose this particular song to cover? Here is the backstory of an idea that was sparked about 10 years ago. Lead singer Melissa Jane joined the band in 2009 and immediately hit it off with the band becoming the best of friends in what she now considers to be her extended family. Melissa and Mike specifically bonded over their mutual fondness of the song “Bodies”. They both thought the song had a great energy and it always put them in a fun rockin’ mood whenever they listened to it. Bassist Mike Status (who also shares in SYNN’s vocal duties) loved to sing that particular song at karaoke and over time, it became a song for them to get pumped to. Melissa started to entertain the idea that the band should cover the song. Melissa states that “everyone would always cheer yeah that would be cool, but it never happened”. However, it remained Melissa and Mike’s friendship-fun-song for the next 10 years until finally it seemed the time was right. The addition of Chris Sestric as guitarist to the band in 2017 added a new infusion of energy and excitement to the group. Chris and Melissa had actually been long time friends and even performed in other projects together in the past. So the extended family extended even further. There now seemed to be a new found balance and enthusiasm as new ideas flowed and….bam, the new cover of “Bodies” was devised. It was also important for the band to cover this song in an effort to pay homage to its original creator, the singer of Drowning Pool, Dave Williams who wrote the song but died just months after the it’s original release in 2001. His song played a big part in forming a genuine bond amongst the SYNN band members. Melissa Jane explains “His messaging of the song definitely resonates with the attitude and thoughts of our band.” Dave Willams talked about “Bodies”, saying….. “CJ came up with the riff, and I thought that was cool and I said, 'Let the bodies hit the floor,' and they looked at me and said, 'That’s pretty cool.' We just built it around that hook and the rest fell in place. It’s about my perspective when I look out and see the pit. It’s about forgetting everything that has happened to you that week, leave your bullshit at the door and get it all out. But you have to have respect for the others in the pit. If you push them down, you have to pick them back up. I’m not going to get behind the violence thing, it is violent, but there is a certain amount of respect and a code.
